Update T12R09 - Version 12.9 - TripTracker GPS, Farm In/Out Console, VIP trips, Save Desired Vehicle Types, Credit Card & SSN Security, etc. [Posted on 7/18/2008]

Update Key   Added Feature - Description
 1  New TripTrackerGPS system
  • TripTracker is proud to announce TripTrackerGPS, our new custom phone-based GPS and status tracking system.
  • This system will constantly track your drivers, giving their position, speed, and direction.
  • The drivers can see all of the trip details, including directions and charges.
  • The drivers can update their trips' Dispatch Status, which will immediately be shown on your Dispatch screen,
  • It runs on almost any java-enabled phone. An unlimited data package with your cellular provider is recommended.
  • The Dispatch screen integrates with MapPoint, so you can locate all or any of your drivers, and show their route taken during a trip or timeframe.
  • This is an optional feature of the Remote Concierge system, which is required, and is an inexpensive subscription per month per phone.
2  The Desired Vehicle Type for a trip can now be saved, even if the trip is assigned to a vehicle with a different Scheduling Group.
  • On the Quick Reservations screen, the Assigned Type is shown if it is different than the Desired Type.
  • When assigning a vehicle, warn the user if a different type is assigned to the trip. They can optionally update the Desired Type at the same time.
  • All trips are priced based on the Desired Vehicle Type, not the assigned type.
  • The Invoice will show the desired type.
  • The Trip Tickets will show the assigned type, so the driver doesn't get confused.
3  You can Add a Trip and Change A Trip at the same time, without closing your current trip.
  • You can now change one trip, and add another trip (or more) at the same time.
  • The window's title will show 'Add A Reservation' instead of 'Quick Reservation'
  • If adding a trip, the 'Find A Trip' button will open in a new window or in the open 'Change Reservation' window.
  • If changing a trip, the 'Add a Trip' button will ask if you want to close the current trip, or open a new window.
  • Note that there can only be one 'Change Reservation' window open at a time.
  • Note that each 'Add A Reservation' screen must be closed with OK when finished. The system will not reuse this window.
4  New security option to hide all Credit Card numbers on all screens in the system.
  • If the user doesn't have this security, only the last 4 digits of the number will show, with all others replaced by '*'.
  • This new security level is Screen Name 'CCNODISPLAY' and defaults to security level '0'.
5  New security option to hide all Social Security numbers on all screens in the system.
  • If the user doesn't have this security, only the last 4 digits of the number will show, with all others replaced by '*'.
  • This new security level is Screen Name 'SSNDISPLAY' and defaults to security level '0'.
6  Created new farm-in/farm-out overview screens for the FleetBook, Transponet, T2 (TripTracker to TripTracker), and all networks.
  • On the Reservations menu, choose 'Farm In and Farm Out Networks', and then select the desired network.
  • These can also be accessed on the Edit | Options screens tab for the network, by clicking the 'Show Transaction List' button.
  • Transactions can be sorted by time received, Trip ID, or Trip Date & Time.
  • Transactions can be limited for Farm Out trips, Farm In trips, or all trips.
  • Click on the Trip ID button to jump to the Quick Reservation screen for that trip.
  • For the current record on the top half of the screen, all transactions are shown at the bottom half of the screen.
    • Click on the 'Details' checkbox to see all values sent or received.
    • Click on the 'Raw Data' button to see the actual formatted message.
    • Hover your mouse over the 'Type' column to see an explanation of each transaction type.
    • 'Accepted' transactions will be highlighted in blue.
    • 'Declined' transactions will be highlighted in red.
    • 'Acknowledged' transactions will be shown in grey. Note that an acknowledgement still requires a manual Accept or Decline transaction to be sent.

7  You can now flag a trip as a VIP, Farm-In, Farm-Out, Incident (problem), or a Quote.
  • Added a new Trip Statuses option on the Data Entry menu.
  • Each Trip Status could be a combination of any of the statuses (VIP, Quote, Incident, Farm In, and/or Farm Out).
  • By clicking the 'Set Titles' button, you can rename the Trip Ticket & Invoice titles, and you can include a note that prints at the bottom of each.
  • The Quick Reservations screen will show the trip's status
  • The Dispatch screen will show a summary dropdown of all statuses, including how many trips there are for each for the day(s) shown.
    • You can control in which sequence they will display.
    • The 'most important' Trip Status (to you) that has trips for the day(s) shown will have its total shown at the top of the Dispatch screen.
    • To see the other totals, click the dropdown button |v|, which might obscure some of the data.
    • To hide the list, click the |^| button.

  • You can define your own Trip Status, such as 'Car Seat Needed', to display on the Dispatch screen.
  • Manually accepted Farm-Ins will be set to a 'Farm In Quote'.
    • Click the 'Quote Status' button on the Quick Reservations screen to 'Accept' or 'Decline' the trip.
      • 'Book Quote' will Accept the trip.
      • 'Reject Quote' will Decline the trip.
      • 'Quote Expired' will Decline the trip.
      • If the trip was received from one of the farm-in networks, the appropriate response will be sent automatically.

 8  MapPoint integration with TripTrackerGPS:
  • If MapPoint is installed on the computer, the Dispatch screen can be used to see one or all of the Drivers' current positions, etc.
    • The screen's OK button will instead read 'GPS', which will show all users' current position. Use the 'X' to close the Dispatch screen.
    • If Shift-Left Mouse is clicked on a Driver or Vehicle, their current position will be shown.
    • If Ctrl-Shift-Left Mouse is clicked on a Driver or Vehicle, the entire route of the trip will be shown.
This shows the route taken from the end of the previous trip until the start of the next trip.

  • The driver's location icon will be color-coded to show how current their latest GPS fix is:
    • Up to 5 minutes will show arrows pointing in the direction the vehicle is travelling.
    • Up to 10 minutes will show a green circle
    • Up to 30 minutes will show a yellow circle
    • Up to 60 minutes will show a red circle
    • All older fixes will show a white circle

  • When a route is shown, any cell-tower fixes (non-GPS) will show as a radio tower icon, and not be included in the route taken.
  • Note that this requires the TripTrackerGPS subscription for GPS tracking of Drivers via their cell phones.
9  Note that there were 2 patches released for Version 12.8
  • If you did not install those, please refer to their update's details on the List Of Updates page.
